The Rolla and surrounding areas are rich with amazing local businesses! From food to gaming to music and more, The Stitch Niche is proud to serve our area alongside these businesses. This is far from a comprehensive list– so don’t worry, we’ll be adding more of our friends here soon!
A Slice of Pie, around since 1986, is a Rolla staple. Not into pie? Their cheesecakes, quiche, and pot pies are also fantastic.
Feeling like lunch is needed before dessert? O’Doggy’s has you covered! What started as a food cart has become one of the best places for lunch in the downtown area. From basic hot dogs to specialty creations such as their famous Mac’O’Dog, O’Doggy’s is a fun and inexpensive place to take care of those cravings.
Oh, but that’s not the only perfect place for food in Rolla. Alex’s Pizza serves not only pizza, but pasta and some of the best gyros in the state. Started back in 1964, Alex’s is part of what’s put Rolla on the map.
Between lunch at O’Doggy’s and dinner at Alex’s (followed by dessert at A Slice of Pie!) there’s plenty of time to check out some of the great shopping in the area. Eclipse Books and Comics carries a large selection of sci-fi and fantasy books and the latest Marvel and DC comics.
Music also plays a big role in Rolla’s life, and the center of that is Merle’s Music. From lessons to rentals to repair service, Merle’s does it all.
We aren’t the only craft store in town either! Rolla Hobby, a fantastic model shop on the main strip of downtown Rolla, hosts a fantastic selection of model kits, paints, and specialty items. Not sure what you need? They’ve been helping Rolla area hobbyists for over 50 years and can always give you a hand.
Starting to get a little bored? We’ve got plenty to do around here! Go old school at Coachlite Lanes! Load up on nachos, pretzels, and sodas as you bowl, but don’t get too full. Right next to our bowling alley is another classic Rolla restaurant, Maid-Rite! Our Maid-Rite is family owned and operated and serves classic American diner fair like burgers, onion rings, and concretes!
So, you’ve had your concrete and your Maid-Rite, now you need something to work it all off. Check out our skating rink! The Zone is fun for all ages with a roller rink, arcade, lazer maze, and kids’ play area.
Don’t forget to grab your coffee! Rolla has one of the best small coffee shops, The Giddy Goat. With their delightful drinks and cozy atmosphere, you’ll never want to leave.
But you’ll have to leave eventually because there’s a whole downtown to visit! With shops, restaurants, activities, and the local library, you’ll be sure to spend hours perusing Pine Street. Some of the highlights of Pine Street are Peacock Stained Glass, Kent Jewelry, the Rolla Public Library, and our brand new, retro style soda fountain, Soda and Scoops!
